Claire Johnson, Floot Fire Director, is retired from her positions as Affiliate Artist at the University of Houston and Professor of Flute at Southern Methodist University. She is a member of Gemeinhardt Flutemakers National Teacher Advisory Panel and serves on the Pedagogy Committee for the National Flute Association. A frequent speaker at the National Flute Association Conventions, Ms. Johnson is in great demand as a pedagogue and clinician. Ms. Johnson studied at Julliard with Arthur Lora.
Patti Grubbs-Mecklin, Floot Fire Director, is a private teacher, free-lance flutist and Emergency Medical Technician in the Dallas area.
Rita Almond is a private teacher and free-lance flutist in the Mid-Cities area of Dallas-Fort Worth.
Terri Austin is a free-lance flutist and teacher in the DFW metroplex. Winner of the 2006 National Flute Association Orchestral Excerpt Competition, she was also a finalist in the 2006 Myrna W. Brown Artist Competition and 2nd prize winner of the 2002 Upper Midwest Flute Society Young Artist Competition.
Helen Blackburn is Principal Flute of the Dallas Opera Orchestra and Adjunct Professor of Flute at Texas Christian University. She was also the First Prize winner of the Myrna W. Brown Artist Competition.
Christine Cleary is a private teacher and free-lance flutist in the Mid-Cities area of Dallas-Fort Worth.
Jane Fore is a private teacher and freelance artist in the Plano area as well as nstrumental music coordinator for Custer Road Methodist Church.
Jocelyn Goranson was the 1st place prize winner of the Frank Bowen Competition and semi-finalist in the National Flute Association's Young Artist Competition. She is a freelance artist in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and teaches at Texas A & M University Commerce.
Debby Johnson is principal flute of the Richardson Symphony Orchestra, flutist with the Texas Winds, and a private teacher in the Dallas area.
Dr. Ellen Kaner is a free-lance woodwind performer and instructor in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She is on the private lesson staff for the Mansfield and Grand Prairie School Districts. Currently the treasurer of the Texas Flute Society and a committee chair for the National Flute Association, Ellen also manages and directs an adult flute choir, Flutes Unlimited.
Jenifer McKenzie performs with the Dallas Opera Orchestra, Texas Chamber Orchestra and Texas Winds Musical Outreach. She currently teaches private students in Richardson, Plano, Carrollton and Frisco. She has taught at Floot Fire since its beginning and still loves it!
Judy Pierce is a private teacher and free-lance flutist in Arlington.
Lance Sanford was a First Prize winner of both the Flute Talk and Myrna W. Brown Competitions. He is now a private teacher and freelance flutist.

Terri Sundberg, Floot Fire Director, is currently Associate Professor of Flute and a member of the North Texas Chamber Winds at the University of North Texas. She has held the position of Principal Flute with the Orchestra Sinfonica de Mineria in Mexico City, the Haydenfestspie Orchestra in Austria and the New Hampshire Music Festival, and also played with the Fort Worth Symphony, the Dallas Opera, and the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. She has been on the faculty of several international music festivals, and has presented masterclasses and performed solo and chamber recitals across the United States and abroad. Her students have won professional positions, summer festival positions, fellowships, and prizes in competitions throughout the United States. Professor Sundberg's degrees are from Yale University and Lawrence Conservatory, and her principal teachers have included Jeanne Baxtresser, Thomas Nyfenger, and Ernestine Whitman.
Dr. Kimberly Clark is Assistant Professor of Flute at the University of Houston. An active recitalist with upcoming performances in Washington, D.C. and Zurich, Dr. Clark is beginning work on a CD of French music for flute and voice. A highly sought teacher and clinician she has been a lecturer at two National Flute Conventions and at the Texas Music Educators Association. She is the Flute Clubs Coordinator for the National Flute Association and edits the "Across the Miles" column in the Flutist Quarterly.
